Some of Monique’s newest works.
I love fashion so when I spotted some of these dresses from an old magazine of styles from Paris in the 1800’s, I decided to put some of them in my paintings to demonstrate how creative people were then and always will be.
Le Vagabond de Puerto Rico, the artist met on a trip to the Caribbean’s in 2014 and she loved how he was sitting, admiring the people feeding the birds in the square. The wall behind him was red and she loves this color. He seemed so free and relaxed although his life as a street person may not always be very easy.
The Florida House came from a trip to Florida to get on a cruise with my son Peter and daughter Jennifer. On our way back we stayed in a hotel and walked in the neighborhood where I spotted this old run down house.
The Wooden Horse took 4 months to paint and has become one of my favorites.
Perhaps because it is my latest or one of my latest.
Lighthouses were difficult for me to do as I still cannot decide if I wants the large Lighthouse above or below.
The Aylmer Marina below right is at walking distance from my place. It is so beautiful in the summer
I am not sure that Bowen Island 5 is completed.
It doesn’t move me the way it normally does when a painting is finishes.
